Modern yoga focuses on an active practice engaging muscles. Yin is the other half. Yin yoga targets deeper tissues of our ligaments, joints, and facial network.
Yin is best practiced when the muscles are cool (morning, evening, before a typical yang yoga practice). It is great in the spring and summer the yang time of year, or when life is very hectic to bring balance into your daily life.
The Practice:
You find your edge, stillness, and hold the pose for time, generally 3-5 minutes.
